Eclipse bardenas reals

On August 12, the sky will once again give us an extraordinary spectacle: an eclipse that will transform the light, the landscape and our emotions for a few minutes that will seem eternal. And if there is a place to live it with intensity and authentic beauty, that is the environment of the Royal Bardenas.

But this will not be just any eclipse.

It will be a time traveller.

When the sky darkened more than a century ago

More than a hundred years ago, the ancient inhabitants of these caves already contemplated an eclipse from this same landscape. There were no cameras, no mobile phones, no scientific explanations available to everyone. Only the silence of the desert, the murmur of the wind and a sky that, suddenly, began to darken.

Imagine for a moment what you felt.

From inside the caves, protected by the rock, they would look outside with amazement, perhaps with respect, perhaps with fear. The light changing in a strange way, the animals altering, the temperature dropping slightly… The day turning into dim light.

Those people, who lived in full connection with nature, experienced the eclipse in a deep, almost spiritual way. For them it was not just an astronomical phenomenon: it was an event that imposed silence and raised questions.

Today you can feel the same… from the same place

Now, more than a century later, you – visitors and families who choose Cuevas de Bardenas – have the opportunity to experience something very similar.

From these same caves, in this same landscape, under the same open sky of the Royal Bardenas, you can look up and discover what those people who inhabited this place felt in the last eclipse so many years ago.

The difference is that today we will do it with knowledge, with confidence, with calm… but with the same emotion intact.

It will be a moment to stop time.

To embrace yours.

To explain to the little ones what is happening in the sky.

To feel that you are part of something much bigger.

An experience to live without haste

Therefore, on the occasion of this very special event, we propose minimum stays of 5 nights for families. We want it not to be a quick visit, but a complete experience.

Five nights for:

Explore the lunar landscape of the Bardenas.

Discover unique trails and formations.

Enjoy sunsets that colour the earth with golden and reddish tones.

Prepare the eclipse night together.

Share conversations under one of the cleanest and most spectacular skies in Spain.

The eclipse will be the culminating moment, but each previous day will be part of the memory.

On August 12, the sky will speak

When the light begins to transform and the silence becomes deeper, you will understand that you are not only observing an astronomical phenomenon. You will be reliving an ancient emotion, sharing an experience that connects past and present.

More than a hundred years ago, someone looked at the sky from these caves with a racing heart.

This August 12, it can be you.

And we are sure that it will be, simply, spectacular.
